GENERAL TERMS
These Terms and Conditions are a legally binding agreement between you („you“) and Österreichische Chemische Gesellschaft („us“, „we“, „GÖCH“) regarding your usage of goech-events.at and all related media forms, sites and channels („Site“ or „Website“).
By acessing and using this site you agree to have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do NOT agree, you are prohibited from using this site and should discontinue any acess to this site immediatly.
These Terms and Conditions may be altered, updated or supplemented in the future. We reserve the right to implement these changes and will add changes by updating the „Last updated“ date on this website. It is your responsibility to regularly review these Terms and Conditions to stay aware of updates.
USER REGISTRATION
To place orders on this site you will have to register. When placing an order while not logged-in, an account will be created automatically for you. You agree to keep your password safe and are responsible for your use of account and password. We reserve the right to change, remove or reclaim your username if we determine your username to be inappropriate or objectionable in other ways.
USERS
By using this site you agree and warrant that:
- All information you submit is true, accurate, current and complete
- That you will maintain the accuracy of such information and update it if necessary
- You have legal capacity to agree and comply with these Terms and Conditions
- You are not a minor in your jurisdiction
- You will not use automated or not-human means to acess this site (bot, script, or otherwise)
- You will not use the Site for any illegal or unauthorized purpose;
- Your use of the Site will not violate any laws or regulations.
If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current, or incomplete, we have the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Site.
REFUNDS AND RETURNS POLICY
Cancellations
The GÖCH Secretariat must be notified of any cancellation in writing by e-mail at office@goech.at. Cancellation by phone will not be accepted.
You are eligible to withdraw from the contract of purchase withing 2 weeks after ordering online according to EU laws. This cannot be applied if the purchased ticket, access, product and so on has already been used, copied, consumed or similar.
Example 1: You purchased a ticket for an event that is scheduled tomorrow but are unable to attend at all. You are eligible for the 2-week return period.
Example 2: You purchased a 3-day conference ticket for an event that is scheduled within the week. After visiting the first day, you decide not to visit anymore. You are not eligible for the return, as you already have used your ticket.
Refund Time Limits
More than 21 days before the event, 2024: 85 % of the registration fee will be refunded
21 days before the event, 2024: 50 % of the registration fee will be refunded
7 days before the event: no refund, only a name change can be accepted if we are informed beforehand and agree to the change
If you haven’t received a refund 7 days after the event ended, first check your bank account again. It may also take some time for your credit card company before your refund is officially posted. Next you can contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Please note that the appropriate refunds will be made after the event affected if the event is happening within one month.
Sale items
Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.
Returns of physical items
Our refund and returns policy for physical items lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we can’t offer you a full refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods, products that are hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned. Additional non-returnable items are gift cards and downloadable software products.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
- Book with obvious signs of use
- CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, cassette tape, or similar that has been opened.
- Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
- Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at office@goech.at.
Shipping returns
To return your product, you should mail your product to: Österreichische Chemische Gesellschaft, Nibelungengasse 11/6, 1010 Vienna, Austria.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.
If you are returning more expensive items, you may consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
This Site is, unless otherwise indicated, our proprietary property. All code, databases, software, designs, audio, video, text, photographs and other content, the trademarks, logos and so on are owned by us, licensed to us, or we were granted permission to use them on this site. They are protected by copyright and trademark laws and are not allowed to be copied without our permission.
No part of this site is to be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, licensed or otherwisely used or exploited for any commercial purpsoe without our written permission.
If you are eligible to use this website, you are granted to download or print a copy of any content you have rightfully gained access to (e.g. the book of abstract of a conference you registered to, publically available programs, information about the events e.t.c). All other rights not expressly granted to you regarding this site and content are reserved.
PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
You may not use or acess this website for any purpose other than our intended purpose. It may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors unless we specifically allowed it.
As a user of the Site, you agree not to:
- Retrieve data or content from our website systematically to create a collection, compilation, database or similar unless you have our permission
- Use a buying agent or purchasing bot, script or similar to make purchases on the site
- Disable, interfere or circumvent any security related features of this website
- Interfere, disrupt or create an undue burden on the website or network services
- Attempt to impersonate other users or people
- Sell or transfer your profile
- Delete the copyright or rights notice from any content
- Copy or adapt this websites software or code
- Upload malicious files such as viruses, spyware, trojan horses or other material that interferes with the uninterrupted use of the site
- Uploud or transmit any material that acts as spam (continuous posting of repetitive text), materials you do not have the rights to or are not related to the requested upload
USER CONTRIBUTIONS AND SUBMISSIONS
In specific circumstances this website will ask you to upload media or files (e.g. Abstracts for events). These files may be viewable by other users of the site and through third-party websites and will be possibly, if selected as viable submission, compiled into a book of abstract, program, or similar information media for visitors of the event. As such, any Submissions you transmit may be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary. When you create or make available any contributions, you thereby represent and guarantee that:
- the creation, distribution, transmission, public display, and the accessing, downloading, or copying of your Submissions do not and will not infringe any proprietary rights
- you are the creator and owner of or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, releases, permissions to use and to authorize us, and other users of this site to use your Submissions in any manner contemplated by these terms and conditions.
- your submissions are not false, inaccurate, or misleading.
- your submissions do not violate any applicable law, regulation, or rule, including the privacy or publicity rights of any third parties.
- your submissions do not otherwise violate, or link to material that violates, any provision of these terms and conditions.
SUBMISSION LICENSE
By uploading your submission to any part of the, you automatically grant, and warrant that you have the right to grant, to us an unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide right license to host, use, copy, reproduce, disclose, publish, broadcast, retitle, archive, store, cache, publicly display, reformat, translate, transmit, excerpt (in whole or in part), and distribute such submission (including, without limitation, your image and voice) for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the submission. The use and distribution may occur in any media formats and through any media channels. All of this will only be done within the means of the affected event, e.g. for compiling and distributing a book of abstract, advertising the contents of the event, making submissions available online, document events and submissions to track recipients of prices or similar and so on. If you are unsure about the planned use of your submission, please contact us at office@goech.at.
We do not assert any ownership over your submissions. You keep your full ownership of all your submissions and any intellectual property or proprietary rights associated with your submissions. We are not liable for any statements in your submissions provided by you in any area on this website.
You are solely responsible for your submissions on this website and you expressly agree to exonerate us from any and all responsibility and to refrain from any legal action against us regarding your submissions.
We have the right, in our sole discretion, 1) to edit, redact, or otherwise change any submissions in terms of formatting and appearance to unify it for publishing as book of abstract or similar; 2) to re-categorize any submissions to place them in more appropriate locations on the website; and 3) to pre-screen or delete any submissions at any time and for any reason, without notice. We have no obligation to proof-read, check, or monitor your submissions.
SITE MANAGEMENT
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:
- monitor this website for violations of these terms and conditions,
- take legal actions against anyone who violates the law and to report such individuals to the law enforcement authorities
- refuse or restrict access to any of your contributions on this website,
- remove, disable or limit any of your submissions if they are excessive in size or are burdensome to our system
- manage the site in a way to protect our rights and property, and to maintain a properly functioning site.
