Austrian Food Chemistry Days 2026

Dear colleagues, we are pleased to announce the Austrian Food Chemistry Days 2026! The Austrian Food Chemistry Days provide a platform for food chemists, food analysts, food toxicologists, food technologists, and nutrition scientists from academia, control authorities, and industry to present and discuss cutting-edge research in the field of food chemistry.

The conference will cover all aspects of food chemistry, offering insights into current research activities in the area of food quality, food safety, food authenticity, food toxicology; food ingredients, food additives and food contaminants. Topics will also include biomonitoring and exposure assessment, food allergens, food processing; food contact materials, food flavour and sensory properties; food microbiology and food analysis.

The official language of the meeting will be English in order to encourage the participation of non-German-speaking colleagues, especially PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

The P.B. Czedik-Eysenberg Award 2026 will be presented during the conference. The awardee will be invited to present their work on this occasion. The call for the P.B. Czedik-Eysenberg Award 2026 is now open:

The lecture hall „Hörsaal Santner (HS H) is located in the inner court of this part of the New Campus of TU Graz. The address is Kopernikusgasse 24; however, the inner court can be accessed via Brockmanngasse, Stremayrgasse and also from the small plaza in front of the Chemistry building (please see the blue arrows on the map). Signs will be placed close to each entrance to guide you to the conference location.  

If you use public transportation, take tram line 6 to the stop “Neue Technik”, which is only a few meters from the conference venue.

The deadlines for the submission of contributions has ended.

Preliminary Schedule:

The conference will begin on Wednesday early afternoon and conclude on Friday before lunch.

After the conference, there will be an opportunity to take part in a free guided tour of Graz city centre (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The tour will start at 2 p.m. at Graz University of Technology and last approximately 1.5 hours. It will end in Graz city centre.

Participation is free of charge. However, advance registration is required (manuela.eberl@tugraz.at).
