ECTN Meeting

Welcome Messages

As the President of the European Chemistry Thematic Network (ECTN), I am delighted to extend a warm invitation to all of you to attend our Annual Meeting and General Assembly. This year, we are gathering in the beautiful city of Vienna from April 4th to April 6th.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community, share our knowledge, discuss our challenges, and collectively shape the future of chemistry education in Europe. We have an exciting agenda planned, filled with insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and ample opportunities for networking.

Your participation is vital to the success of this event and the continued growth of our network. I look forward to your presence in Vienna and to the valuable contributions I know you will make.

Please mark your calendars and see you in Vienna!

Sanjiv Prashar

President, ECTN

In conjunction with our Annual Meeting and General Assembly, we are thrilled to announce that our Erasmus Plus Project, Distinct, will be hosting a special event titled “Training for Heads of Student Laboratories” from April 3rd to April 5th.

This training activity is an excellent opportunity to engage in enriching educational experiences, share best practices, and learn from each other. We strongly encourage all to participate and contribute to this collaborative learning environment.

More details about the event will be available on our website soon.

Peter Weinberger

Chair of the local organizing committee

As the president of the Austrian Chemical Society, I am honored to announce that this year’s General Assembly and Conference of ECTN will take place at the Faculty of Technical Chemistry, TU Wien, in Vienna, Austria, on 4th – 6th April 2022.

The 2024 General Assembly and conference of ECTN will be organized jointly by the Faculty of Technical Chemistry, TU Wien, and the Austrian Chemical Society.

We are planning a programme over two full days (Friday and Saturday) that will be attractive to all members. In addition to the professional program, there will be an opportunity to get to know the beauty of Vienna and enjoy Austrian cuisine.

We look forward to seeing you in Vienna.

14.00-17.00 STEM CPD-Ambassadors Symposium

At this symposium, we will discuss the implications of the CPD-Ambassadors' approach for the quality of teaching and learning in higher education, as well as its impact on professional development in teaching and learning. Several CPD-Ambassadors who participated in our previous STEM-CPD Summer School will share their findings. Following this, three topics that have emerged within the CPD-Ambassadors' community will be discussed in small groups, and conclusions will be drawn collectively. This symposium will be organized in a hybrid format.
